Frequently asked questions when using Mantis portable speakers

During use, portable speakers will encounter some common errors that most users make, or it may be due to incorrect operation or not knowing how to use it. Today, Mantis will summarize some common errors and how to fix them for users.
1. “Why does the music sound lower when I sing?”
Answer: It’s because you accidentally activated the microphone priority function. This function is often used in seminars and conferences, so when you speak into the microphone, the sound will automatically lower the music and prioritize your microphone sound. If you want to turn off this function, just look at the control buttons labeled “mic.Priority” or “mic.pri” to turn off the function and you will be able to use the microphone sound normally in parallel with the music.
2. “How many hours does this speaker use?”
Answer: The portable speaker uses a separate battery power source, so it can be used without plugging in for 4~8 hours, depending on the capacity you turn on. You just need to charge for 6~8 hours and then unplug the cord to use it.
3. “Why does the speaker often howl or the microphone often howl, flicker, or make a crackling sound?”
Answer: Because the Mantis portable speaker line is used outdoors, in open spaces, this howling phenomenon is due to the sound echoing back to the microphone, so it will howl, so please note that using the portable speaker in open, airy spaces will not cause howling. In case it is just a small living room, if you want to avoid howling, turn on the speaker volume at a moderate level, adjust the microphone volume to below 50%, the “Echo” level below 50%, do not point the microphone head directly at the speaker face and keep the position at least 3m away from the speaker face to avoid howling.
In case if you hear a crackling sound while using the speaker or microphone, immediately check the amount of electricity in the battery and the battery in the microphone to see if there is much left, but 99% of the time when such a situation occurs, it is because the speaker or microphone is out of battery, so you just need to replace the battery or fully charge the battery to be able to use it normally.
4. “If the speaker runs out of battery while being used outdoors, can I connect the battery to an external battery?”
Answer: Of course, you can use an external battery with a voltage of 12V DC to charge the battery in the speaker, but it can only support you for about 1 more hour of use. And when connecting an external battery like that, the speaker will often flicker and often make a crackling sound. That is because when connecting an external battery, it is only a supporting charger, so the battery in the speaker will not have enough electricity to play music, causing a crackling sound.
5. “How far is the microphone and bluetooth?”
Answer: The microphone’s distance is from 20 to 30m and bluetooth is a maximum of only 10m, but if there are many obstacles, it will cause the bluetooth to be interfered with and flicker.
6. “Can the speaker be connected to another speaker to play in parallel?”
Answer: Depending on the speaker model, there will be a line out port to connect to another speaker to play in parallel. But please note that if the speaker plays, you must plug the Audio out jack to connect to the Aux in jack of the speaker that needs to be connected in parallel.
Note: For those who want to plug in the wire to play music directly, then you must plug it into the “AUX IN” port to play music and adjust the volume, but when you plug the wire into the “OUT” port, the music will still play from your device and you cannot adjust the volume of the speaker.
7. “What is the difference between a wooden speaker and a plastic speaker?”
Answer: A wooden speaker will produce a warmer and more solid sound than a plastic speaker. However, a wooden speaker will be much heavier and more cumbersome than a plastic speaker, which is why most portable speakers are designed with plastic boxes for easy movement.
8. “Why can’t I connect to Bluetooth?”
Answer: The first thing you need to do when you want to connect to the current portable speaker lines is to switch from “LINE” mode to Bluetooth mode by pressing the “MODE” button to switch modes. When the LED screen displays the word “BLUE” or “BL” and the bluetooth symbol flashes, then you can find the speaker’s bluetooth device, and when the connection is successful, the symbol will stop flashing.
